Description
The Cosmodio Horoscope Echo Sequencer Delay and Reverb Pedal takes a familiar delay and reverb foundation and adds a sequencer that manipulates clock speed to create evolving rhythmic and pitch-shifting echoes. In Precise mode, Horoscope operates as a delay, while Diffuse mode moves into ambient reverb. Once the sequencer starts moving, changes in clock speed compress or expand the echoes and transpose anything already repeating. That opens the door to arpeggiated delays, glissando-like pitch movement, industrial pulses, drifting ambience, and microtonal patterns based on interval systems including octaves, Pythagorean fourths and fifths, and just-intoned scales.
Constellation is the heart of the pedal. With the sequencer stopped, it changes the echo's clock speed, pitch, and texture. With sequencing active, it selects groups of clock speeds and pitch intervals that the Sequence control then moves through. You can choose straightforward Up, Down, and Up/Down arpeggios, pseudo-random repeating sequences of 6, 8, 10, 12, or 16 steps, or an infinite sequence that never repeats. Drift adds another variable, with counterclockwise settings gradually mutating the sequence and clockwise settings introducing pitch warble and an increased chance of glissando transitions. Auto mode keeps those sequences running continuously, while Manual mode lets you advance them one step at a time with the footswitch.
Horoscope is also set up to work as a practical part of a larger rig. It supports mono, stereo, and mono-to-stereo operation, four presets, tap tempo, mechanical relay bypass or buffered bypass with trails, and expression pedal or 0-5V CV control that can be assigned to multiple parameters with individual ranges. You can even assign expression to the echo input gain for swells that leave your dry signal untouched. We think that's what makes Horoscope especially interesting. You can use it as a fully featured delay or ambient reverb, then bring the sequencing into the picture when you want the repeats themselves to become another musical voice.
