Description

The Electro-Harmonix Nano Deluxe Memory Man Delay Pedal brings the sound and control of the classic Deluxe Memory Man into a much smaller format that makes a lot more sense on a modern pedalboard. This is an all-analog delay with 30ms to 550ms of delay time, plus the chorus and vibrato-style modulation that has always been a big part of the Memory Man sound. If you want warm analog repeats that can stay fairly straightforward or get noticeably more animated and textured, the Nano DMM covers a lot of ground without taking up the space of the original large-format pedal.

Delay, Feedback, and Blend handle the core echo sounds, with Feedback capable of everything from a few repeats to runaway oscillation. Level adjusts the input gain, while an Overload LED lets you know when the delayed signal begins to smoothly clip. The separate Depth and Rate controls are particularly useful here. Depth determines how much modulation is applied to the delay, while Rate sets its speed, giving you much more direct control over chorus and vibrato textures than the original Chorus/Vibrato rate switch. Set Blend fully wet for vibrato-style modulation, or around the middle for chorus-style sounds.

An internal Tails switch gives you a choice between letting existing echoes naturally decay after bypass or muting them immediately. With Tails disabled, the Nano Deluxe Memory Man operates in true bypass; enabling Tails switches it to buffered bypass so the repeats can continue. The high-impedance input helps preserve the character of your guitar signal, and the compact enclosure makes this an easy fit for players who want the familiar Memory Man approach without dedicating a large section of the board to it. We think it's a particularly practical way to get into classic analog delay when modulation and hands-on control are just as important as the repeats themselves.
