Description
The Gibson L-00 Special in Satin Honey Burst brings Gibson's classic small-body acoustic design into a streamlined, USA-made package built for everyday playing, recording, and performing. Its narrow-waisted L-00 body produces a focused response with a tighter low end than a larger dreadnought, making it particularly well suited to fingerstyle, blues, songwriting, and arrangements where the guitar needs to sit clearly in a mix. A solid Sitka spruce top with traditional scalloped X-bracing and solid mahogany back and sides gives it a balanced voice with plenty of dynamic response from a compact body.
The utile neck uses Gibson's comfortable SlimTaper profile and a traditional compound dovetail joint secured with hot hide glue. Its 24.75" scale, 1.73" nut width, 12" radius rosewood fingerboard, and 19 standard frets make the L-00 Special comfortable for both fingerstyle work and conventional flatpicking. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish keeps the overall feel straightforward and broken-in, while single-ply cream binding around the top and back gives the Satin Honey Burst finish a clean, traditional appearance.
An LR Baggs Element Bronze undersaddle pickup and active preamp make the L-00 Special ready for amplified gigs and recording, with a soundhole-mounted volume control that keeps adjustments simple. Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners provide dependable tuning, while a rosewood bridge and TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins round out the hardware.
