The Squier Paranormal Precision Bass Thinline SJ Laurel in 3-Color Sunburst reworks the original Precision Bass formula with semi-hollow construction and an unconventional two-pickup layout. Built for players who want classic Fender-style bass sounds with less weight and a little more acoustic resonance, it combines the broad thump of a '51-style P Bass pickup with the focused attack of a bridge-position single-coil. The result is a flexible instrument for rock, indie, soul, alternative, and players who want something outside the usual P Bass or Jazz Bass setup.
The nyatoh body uses a thinline semi-hollow design, while the maple neck features a comfortable "C" profile and satin urethane finish for an easy-playing feel. An Indian laurel fingerboard with a 9.5" radius, 20 narrow tall frets, and a full 34" scale keeps the playing experience familiar, while the reduced weight and added resonance of the thinline body make it comfortable for longer rehearsals and gigs. A three-position blade switch provides quick access to each pickup individually or both together for a useful range of fuller, brighter, and blended bass tones.
