The Synergy Preamp Module - Diezel Herbert puts Peter Diezel's Herbert preamp design into Synergy's interchangeable all-tube format. It's aimed at players who need a particularly tight, immediate response from higher-gain sounds, especially with extended-range guitars or low tunings, but the Herbert design isn't limited to heavy music. The goal is the same broad response as the original amp, from dynamic cleaner sounds and focused crunch through aggressive rhythm and sustaining lead tones.
This is a two-channel design with separate Gain and Volume controls for each channel, backed by a global three-band EQ. Where the Herbert gets especially useful is its Mid-Cut section. Both the Blue and Red channels have their own Mid-Cut on/off switch and dedicated Mid-Cut Level control, so you can set the midrange response differently for your rhythm and lead sounds. That gives you a practical way to move between a more scooped, percussive response and a fuller midrange voice without having to rebuild your EQ every time you change channels.
Peter Diezel personally designed the module to carry the character and response of the Herbert into the Synergy platform, and its modular format makes it easy to install or swap when your rig calls for something different. We think this is an especially strong Synergy option if tight low-end tracking and clearly defined high-gain tones are priorities, but you still want enough range to cover cleaner and lower-gain parts from the same module.
