The Ibanez AEWC16QA is built for electric players who want an acoustic that doesn't fight their muscle memory. This cutaway acoustic-electric feels familiar in your hands with its sleek profile and fast-playing Comfort Grip neck-none of that chunky traditional acoustic neck feel that can slow down players used to electrics. The quilted maple art grain top gives it a striking visual presence that fits right in with modern gear setups.
Tonally, this one delivers a balanced sound that works well both unplugged and through an amp or PA. The sapele back and sides bring warmth and fullness to the midrange, while the basswood core under that quilted maple top keeps things focused and articulate. The Ibanez undersaddle pickup captures the acoustic character cleanly, and the AEQ-2T preamp gives you simple bass and treble controls plus an onboard tuner that works even when unplugged-handy for quick tune-ups between songs.
The rosewood fretboard feels smooth and familiar, and that top-loading bridge makes string changes quick and painless without dealing with bridge pins. We've found these AEWC models to be reliable workhorses that handle stage use well. The Comfort Grip neck profile really does make a difference if you're coming from electric guitars, and the whole package feels solid and gig-ready right out of the case.
